EDUCATION
GSI Italia has been working in Italy since 1997 with social and social services, offering in all schools a series of integrative teaching activities, structured in paths of profound analysis of human, individual, and collective reality. Knowledge of social dynamics is the only key possible action for real change of social fabric; for this reason, the educational offer consists of issues related to anthropological values, health, immigration, environment and intercultural issues. A special space is dedicated to Counseling, to give students the opportunity to relate more easily to adults and peers; allowing you to manage states of uneasiness, fear and stress, whether in the private or in the school domain.
During the last years GSI gained relevant experience within the Training sector through the implementation of projects focused on preventing violent radicalization and promoting democratic values, fundamental rights, intercultural understanding and active citizenship. These projects involved activities related to education and training of teachers/educators/social workers and sharing best practices in the field of intercultural dialogue, human rights and civic education.
IMMIGRATION
GSI Italia favors the integration of the immigrant population into civil, administrative and economic civil society. The objective is pursued through information, training and accompanying programs directed at new citizens, public administrations and the local civil community. The Association has engaged in training services in the field of badminton, language training, housing, lending and microcredit.
GSI ITALIA is also committed to active citizenship as a means of building a more democratic society, where citizens are the protagonists of their future, that of their territory and of Europe. Finally, it promotes Responsible Tourism and Fair Trade and coordinates the activities of the UFM Municipalities and Local Authorities called “Città Solidale”.
DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION
GSI Italia offers schools of all kinds and degrees, a range of educational activities to be included in school planning. The offer is divided into educational paths with which it is intended to promote a formative moment that can truly allow an in-depth analysis of human, individual and collective reality.
The interventions are divided into two parts according to their typology, with modules devoted to specific issues of cooperation and development education; pathways that address issues of particular interest such as interculturality, popular traditions, constitution of opinions and attitudes about corporeality; didactic-experiential routes to offer students the opportunity to relate more easily to adults and peers and to allow them to deal with discomfort, fear and stress, private or school demonstrations.
